Rabbi Lazarus-Klein (’04) Named to Buffalo Hillel Board

Rabbi Alex Lazarus-Klein, a 2004 graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, has been named to the board of Hillel of Buffalo. Rabbi Alex Lazarus-Klein is rabbi of Congregation Shir Shalom (an affiliate of Reconstructing Judaism). In addition to his congregational work, his service to the broader community encompasses his new role on the Hillel board, as well as service on many other boards including the Buffalo Board of Rabbis, Network of Religious Communities, Jewish Family Service of Buffalo & Erie County, Bureau of Jewish Education, Jewish Community Center, Coalition for Economic Justice and the national board of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association. Rabbi Lazarus-Klein has also served as president of the Network of Religious Communities.

Before coming to Buffalo in 2008, Rabbi Lazarus-Klein served as rabbi of Temple B´nai Abraham, a Reconstructionist synagogue in Bordentown, New Jersey, and directed the Community Partnership Program for the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.
